Seth Hulkower, President
Seth Hulkower is President of Strategic Energy Advisory Services, a privately held consulting company. Seth and his wife, Lissa Perlman, and their daughters, Talia and Sasha, have been members at Brotherhood for over twenty years. Both girls attended Hebrew school at Brotherhood and held their bat mitzvahs here. The welcoming nature of Brotherhood revealed itself on their first visit when Talia, age one at the time, started crying and they rushed out of the sanctuary. Long-time member and past President, Val Gadsen, urged them to come back and then at the end of services Rabbi Alder invited the family with the “singing” baby to open the ark for Aleinu — a terrific introduction to a warm and open community and Seth is very happy to serve on the Board.
Marge Ginsburg, Chairperson
Marge Ginsburg has been a Board member for over 10 years and a synagogue member for 30+ years. She is a second-generation Board member, as her mother, Carol was not only on the Board for many years, but also served as President (twice) and Chair for a number of years as well. Additionally, her father, Steven (of blessed memory) founded and co-chaired the usher committee for over 20 years.
Marge started the Technology Committee and was responsible for leading various tech initiatives that brought Wi-Fi to the building, updated the congregation management tool/database and the website. She also co-founded a networking group in 2008 to help members in transition due to the economic crisis. Marge co-led the committee that searched and found the Synagogue's second ever Executive Director. And there is the successful Chuck Ginsburg Memorial Blood Drive — named in memory of her brother Chuck — running for over 2 decades and helping thousands of NYers with the blood donations collected.
Marge’s children, Charley and Nico have attended Hebrew School (after school and Tikvah) and they celebrated Charley’s and Nico's bat mitzvahs with the congregation.
Marge is proud to be continuing the family tradition of serving the Brotherhood Synagogue and upholding the tenets and guiding principles of this warm and nurturing community.
